All you need to know about the Naak bar

 

The Naak bar was designed by athletes for athletes. It is the first high-performance energy bar with a real eco-friendly side and able to provide a long lasting energy while improving recovery.

The Naak bar: for what uses?

Before the effort: We recommend using a Naak bar about 45 min before the effort to bring the necessary energy. This time allows our body to start digestion, so nutrients will be ready to be absorbed and used.

During the effort: During an effort that lasts, your body will need fuel to keep performing. The Naak bar, with its 30g of high-quality carbohydrate, will be able to meet these needs. Furthermore, our body loses electrolytes through perspiration (see article), choco-orange and choco-banana flavors provide sodium, thus avoiding dehydration!

After the effort: A Naak bar contains 10 g of complete proteins (see article). These will be used by your body for muscle reconstruction. Carbohydrates, on the other hand, are important to replenish glycogen stores emptied during exercise. With an ideal ratio 3:1 carbs: proteins, the absorption of nutrients is optimal.

And outside the effort then? The Naak bar can be used as snack at any time of the day. It will give you all the energy you need to stay in shape, as well as of many essential nutrients to the body.

A short description of the bar

We mix our ingredients in calculated proportions to meet specific nutritional criteria. Here is a small overview of the final result:

The texture is similar to the one of a brownie: soft and easy to chew and swallow, this represents an advantage for consumption during exercise. In addition, they don't melt between your fingers in the summer, you will not break your teeth on them during the winter, and you'll never find them in crumbs at the bottom of your bag!

About the ingredients

To meet specific goals and obtain the qualities we are looking for, we chose a very short list of natural and unprocessed ingredients that could be found in any kitchen, apart from cricket powder.

Here is a small description of each ingredient used:

Dates: Dates are mainly composed of carbohydrates, with a significant amount of dietary fiber. They are therefore a good source of energy for the body, while participating in the good intestinal transit. Finally, they contain a lot of minerals such as potassium and magnesium.

Maple syrup: In addition to being a local product, maple syrup is a very good source of carbohydrates absorbed very quickly by the cells. It is indeed a non refined product which is not responsible for a spike in blood sugar. Furthermore, it contains many interesting elements such as minerals and vitamins.

Sunflower butter: Sunflower butter is a very interesting product : it contains a large amount of good fat, mainly monounsaturated fatty acids as well as polyunsaturated fatty acids such as omega 6. It is also a good source of protein. Another interesting fact: it contains a significant amount of magnesium and vitamins E, elements that have strong benefits for the body. For example, vitamin E is an antioxidant, a molecule that protects the cells.

Chia seeds: Chia seed have the particularity of containing a very large amount of dietary fiber. They are also a very good source of lipids, especially omega 3, and of complete proteins. They contain also a large quantity of micronutrients: vitamins and minerals. The chia seeds play an important role in the texture of the bar, bringing the smoothness.

Cocoa: Choco-orange and choco-banana flavors contain cocoa. This ingredient is rich in proteins and carbohydrates with a good part of dietary fiber. This is also a food providing a lot of minerals, especially iron and antioxidants.

Sea salt: The sea salt we use is completely natural and has not undergone any transformation after its harvest. Associated with the bar, it allows to bring out the different flavors and so improve the general taste. Most importantly, he brings the electrolytes lost during exercise.

In summary, crickets are a super-food: they contain 60% of complete proteins, which is two to three times more than conventional meat, lots of omega 3, and this in an optimal ratio with omega 6, more calcium than milk, more iron than spinach, a large amount of vitamin B12...
