Näak Ambassador Adam Roberge
PROFESSIONAL ULTRA CYCLIST
"Training is a way for me to constantly push my limits."
I started competing at a very young age. At 14-15 years old, I started seriously training in mountain biking and cross-country skiing. In 2015, I participated in the Canadian road bike championships where I won the race; this was my 3rd race in this discipline. Since I made the transition, I amassed 3 Canadian championship titles and participated in some of the most important races in the world such as the world championships, the Tour of the future, and the Grand Prix Quebec and Montreal. I have been a professional cyclist for the past 4 years.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU EVERY DAY TO TRAIN?
Surpassing oneself. Personally, training is a way of constantly pushing my limits which translates fairly easily into life in general.
DO YOU HAVE A PERSON WHO INSPIRES YOU?
Georges St-Pierre. Combat sports fascinate me, mainly because they require incredible mental strength. I love the approach, nobleness, honesty and discipline that GSP has in sport.
WHAT ARE YOUR TIPS FOR NOT LOSING ENERGY DURING bicycle races?
Eat every 30 minutes, drink a bottle per hour, ALWAYS. Non-negotiable.
WHAT IS YOUR BEST RACING MEMORY?
My breakaway from the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal. To be at the front of a race that I have admired since I was very young, mixed with the incredible atmosphere of Quebec bike lovers is an unforgettable sensation.
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU LIKE TO DO AFTER A RACE?
Congratulate my teammates and discuss what we have just experienced together.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC TO EXCEL IN TRAINING?
The albums by Run the Jewels.
What is your favourite Näak product?
The Mocha Hazelnut Ultra Energy Bar!
