Näak Ambassador Jeffrey Stern
Professional Trail Runner
« Belief in oneself eclipses talent every single time. »
I'm a MUT racer for Salomon, a dog lover, a coach, an outdoor industry consultant and a contributor to UltraRunning magazine. I fell in love with endurance sports after my second mountain bike race, the 2011 Leadville 100.
I love sharing my knowledge, soaking up all that life has to offer. Falling asleep with a smile on my face and getting up in the morning to tackle the day are some of my favorite things.
I rescued my two dogs Leo and Luna from Monterey Bay Lab Rescue and we spend most of our days in beautiful Santa Barbara, California.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU EVERY DAY TO TRAIN?
I train to stay healthy, both mentally and physically, and to inspire others to chase their dreams.
DO YOU HAVE A PERSON WHO INSPIRES YOU?
WHAT ARE YOUR TIPS FOR NOT LOSING ENERGY DURING your races?
Practice eating during training runs what you will eat on race day. It's as important to train your gut, as it is your body & mind.
WHAT IS YOUR BEST RACING MEMORY?
After dislocating my shoulder in September 2020, I put together an abbreviated two-month plan to take down the Backbone Trail FKT in November 2020 and nailed it nearly perfectly.
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU LIKE TO DO AFTER A RACE?
Rest and recover hard at the beach with my dogs.
What is your favorite music to surpass yourself in training?
The Flames Within - Kelvin Mockingbird.
What is your favourite Näak product?
Peanut Butter & Chocolate ultra energy bar.
