I am a mountain athlete who resides in the beautiful Canadian Rockies of Alberta.  I have been an athlete for twenty years. While I compete on the Canadian Ski Mountaineering National team I enjoy trail running, mountain biking and camping with my two awesome boys aged 7 and 8.  I enjoy a simple life with people I care about.

Here are some highlights of my life:

Junior worlds in Korea when I was 18 for short track speed skating.  I was the only girl from the West on the team. It is heavily dominated by Quebec and it was a real accomplishment for a girl from the west to break into that scene.  It was also my first time representing Canada internationally.

Backpacking with my family for a year when I was 9 years old.  My parents took us out of school and we travelled all over the world.

My first Ski Mountaineering World Championships in Verbier Switzerland.  My sons were 3 and 9 months at the time it felt like a real accomplishment and privilege to compete at such a high level as a mom.

Having two beautiful boys is the ultimate highlight of my life.  They mean everything to me and I am thankful for them everyday.

I am the first Female North American team to compete in the Mezzalma ski mountaineering race in Italy.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU EVERY DAY TO TRAIN?

Habit! I started racing when I was 5 years old and training at a National Training centre when I was 13 it is an integral part of my everyday life.

DO YOU HAVE A PERSON WHO INSPIRES YOU?

My mom for modelling what a great women and mother is and my sporting role model would be Melanie Bernier, she paved the way for female ski mountaineer racing in Canada.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE NUTRITION TIP TO SHARE?

Food is fuel, don't under fuel, treat you body like a luxury sports car.

WHAT IS YOUR BEST RACING MEMORY?

Racing the Pierra Menta with my team mate Michelle it was the culmination of a year of hard training and the completion of 10,000 meters over 4 days at a fast race pace was no easy feat.

WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU LIKE TO DO AFTER A COMPETITION?

Have a burger, sweet potato fries and an ice tea and watch a movie with my kids.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC TO SURPASS YOURSELF IN TRAINING?

Red Hot Chili Peppers.
