Recipe - Cricket Powder Beet Hummus

Cricket powder is really easy to add to sauces and dips for an extra protein boost. Follow this recipe for a colorful and deliciously healthy cricket powder beet hummus.

  • 1 beet
  • 1 15 oz. can (1 3/4 cup) cooked chickpeas
  • Zest of a lemon
  • Juice of 1/2 a lemon
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Naak cricket powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Remove the stem and most of the root from your beet and wash it.
  3. Wrap beet in foil and roast for one hour.
  4. Let cool the beet then peel, quarter it and place it in your food processor. Blend until only small bits remain.
  5. Add remaining ingredients except for olive oil and blend until smooth.
  6. Drizzle in olive oil as the hummus is mixing.
  7. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  8. Enjoy!
